Restaurants, bars, hotels, bakeries, takeaways and food factories all share one problem: they offer pests exactly what pests want, every single day. Food, water, warmth and a hundred hiding places behind fridges and under prep counters. You can't clean your way out of that entirely, and a technician who arrives, sprays and leaves won't fix it either.
That is why we offer food businesses a free pest report before anyone signs anything. It shows you what is really going on in your kitchen and storerooms, from a pest controller's point of view.
What the free report covers
Pest status
An experienced technician inspects the premises and lists every pest found, with a level of activity for each one: rats and mice, German cockroaches, flies, stored product insects and anything else turning up.
Hygiene conditions
Pests follow grease, spills and food waste. We look at the conditions that let rodents and cockroaches thrive, because an infestation in a kitchen is a food safety risk (Salmonella and E. coli travel on cockroach legs and rat droppings) and the kind of thing that ends in a health inspector's notice or an unhappy customer.
Housekeeping practices
Often the fix is simple: lids on bins, cracked tiles filled, a gap under the back door closed, stock rotated so old bags of flour don't sit in a corner for months. We note every one of these so your staff can act on them.
A quote for ongoing pest management
Finally you get a no-obligation quote for a contract service, built around what we found rather than a one-size price list.
Why a contract beats a once-off treatment
- Every visit comes with a written report of findings and recommendations, which is exactly what an inspector or auditor wants to see.
- Monitoring stations and regular checks catch new activity early, before it is a customer complaint.
- Treatments target the cause, so you use fewer products in a food area.
- You have one number to call if something turns up between visits.

Which food businesses gain most from a pest contract
Any kitchen benefits, but some set-ups carry more risk than they realise.
- Busy restaurants and takeaways with a bin yard or lane at the back door, where rats and flies have a short trip to the kitchen.
- Bakeries, delis and coffee roasters holding bags of flour, grain, nuts or dried fruit, which draw stored product insects as well as mice.
- Hotels and guesthouses, where the kitchen, the laundry and the rooms all need watching.
- Warehouses, distributors and food factories, where one infested delivery can spread through a lot of stock before anyone notices.
- School, creche and office canteens, which often sit empty over holidays and weekends while pests settle in.
How often we visit, and why it isn't fixed
We don't sell a standard number of visits. The frequency comes out of the free report. A takeaway with an open drain and cockroaches behind the fryers needs more attention than a small coffee bar with a sealed back door and good housekeeping. Once activity drops and the proofing work is done, the schedule can be reviewed. If a new risk appears, such as building work next door or a new supplier, it can be stepped up.
Records that help with health inspections and audits
An environmental health practitioner or a food safety auditor wants to see that pest control is planned, checked and acted on. A contract gives you a pest control file you can keep on site:
- A site plan showing every numbered monitoring and bait station.
- A written report for every visit, with activity found, products used and where they were applied.
- Recommendations on proofing and hygiene, so you can show what was raised and when it was fixed.
Keep the file where the manager on duty can find it. An inspector arriving on a busy Friday lunchtime won't wait while someone searches emails.
What your staff can do between visits
- Check deliveries at the door. Cardboard boxes and egg trays are a common way German cockroaches arrive.
- Leave stations where they are. A bait station moved to make space for a new fridge stops doing its job.
- Avoid shop-bought aerosols near gel bait spots, as they can put cockroaches off the bait.
- Pull out and clean under equipment on wheels at least once a week, not only the surfaces customers can see.
- Report damaged stations, droppings or gnawing straight away instead of waiting for our next visit.
Frequently asked questions
Is the pest report really free?
Yes. The inspection, the written report and the contract quote cost nothing and you are under no obligation to sign up.
Which businesses is it for?
Any business that stores, prepares or serves food or drink: restaurants, bars, hotels, takeaways, bakeries, delis, canteens, warehouses and food factories.
Will the inspection disrupt service?
No. We can work around your trading hours, including before opening or after closing.
What happens after I sign a contract?
We visit on a regular schedule, check and service monitoring points, treat any activity, and leave a written report with findings and recommendations after every visit.
